Servants United in Mission

A Family of Missionary Servants

Emmaus Centre is not sustained by structures alone, but by a community of people who have responded to God’s call to serve. Guided by the Church and animated by the Holy Spirit, our team brings together spiritual leadership, professional expertise, and missionary hearts committed to forming disciples and transforming lives

Emmaus Centre operates under the pastoral care of the Local Ordinary of Kasana–Luweero Diocese and the trusteeship of the Uganda Episcopal Conference, ensuring fidelity to the mission of the Catholic Church. A dedicated Board of Governors, established in 2010, provides strategic guidance, governance, and stewardship for the continued growth and development of the Centre and its ministries.

Founders & vision Bearers

The Beginning of a Living Mission

Emmaus Centre was born from a prophetic vision entrusted to faithful servants who recognized the urgent need for deeper formation within the Church. Inspired by the renewal of the Holy Spirit and the call to evangelization, the founders laid a foundation not merely for an institution, but for a movement of discipleship.

Through courage, sacrifice, and faith, they established a place where lay people, clergy, and religious could encounter Christ, be formed in the Catholic faith, and be sent as witnesses to the world. Their legacy continues to guide Emmaus Centre today — reminding us that every ministry flows from obedience to God’s call and service to His Church.

Board of Governors

Emmaus Centre operates under a dedicated Board of Governors established through the Uganda Episcopal Conference. The Board provides policy direction, oversight, and strategic guidance to ensure that all ministries grow faithfully and sustainably.

Working closely with Church leadership, the Board safeguards the spiritual identity, mission integrity, and responsible stewardship of resources entrusted to the Centre. Their role ensures that Emmaus Centre remains accountable, mission-focused, and responsive to the needs of the wider Church and society while planning for future growth and development.

Director & Community Leader

Spiritual Leadership and Mission Custodianship

At the heart of Emmaus Centre’s daily life is the leadership of the Director and Community Leader, serving together as custodians of the Centre’s vision and spiritual identity. This role unites pastoral guidance with administrative leadership, ensuring harmony between mission, formation, and community life.

They accompany students, families, staff, and participants through spiritual formation while overseeing the development of programmes, ministries, and partnerships. Through prayerful discernment and servant leadership, they foster an environment where faith is lived authentically, vocations are nurtured, and missionary disciples are formed and sent forth.

Formation Facilitators & Ministry Team

Accompanying Hearts on the Journey of Discipleship

The formation team carries the core mission of Emmaus Centre — walking closely with individuals seeking deeper conversion and spiritual growth. These facilitators offer teaching, mentoring, retreats, and pastoral accompaniment through both long-term and short-term formation programmes.

With experience in evangelization, catechesis, and pastoral ministry, they help participants integrate faith into daily life, discover their vocation, and grow into confident witnesses of the Gospel. Their ministry transforms learning into lived discipleship.

Emmaus Pastoral Workers & Mission Partners

Fruits of Formation Sent into the World

Graduates of Emmaus formation programmes continue the mission beyond the Centre as pastoral workers serving parishes, dioceses, schools, families, and communities across Africa and beyond. Many serve as catechists, teachers, evangelizers, retreat leaders, and community builders.

Their witness reflects the lasting impact of Emmaus formation — renewed faith, strengthened families, empowered youth, and communities transformed through Gospel values.

Administrative & Support Team

Service Through Excellence and Hospitality

Behind every programme and ministry is a committed administrative and support team ensuring the smooth running of the Centre. Through organization, hospitality, and faithful stewardship, they create a welcoming environment where every visitor encounters professionalism, care, and Christian service.

Their work, often unseen, makes possible the daily mission of formation, outreach, and community life.
